Basketball Game Preview: Eastern Eagles vs. Federal Hocking Lancers

Eastern is 1-9 against Federal Hocking since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Eastern Eagles will square off against the Federal Hocking Lancers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Saturday, Eastern came up short against Caldwell and fell 69-57. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 545th, while the Redskins are ranked 212th).

Meanwhile, Federal Hocking was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. The matchup between them and Alexander didn't end well, with Federal Hocking falling 67-51.

Federal Hocking's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Eastern, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-8.

Eastern strolled past Federal Hocking when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 68-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eastern since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
