Basketball Recap: Bloomburg Piles Up the Points Against Avinger

Bloomburg hadn't done well against Avinger recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bloomburg Wildcats blew past the Avinger Indians 57-30. The win was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Avinger saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kendyn Moore posted 12 points. That was a full 40% of Avinger's points, marking the third time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Bloomburg's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-17. As for Avinger, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-22.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloomburg will welcome Avery at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Avery will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Bloomburg surely won't give up without a fight. As for Avinger, they will host Sulphur Bluff at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
