Basketball Recap: Pettus Comes Up Short

Pettus lost against Port Aransas back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pettus Eagles had to suffer through a 83-38 loss at the hands of the Port Aransas Marlins. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1596th, while the Marlins are ranked 703rd).

Pettus' defeat dropped their record down to 8-20. As for Port Aransas, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 25-8.

Looking ahead, Pettus will square off against Skidmore-Tynan at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pettus is facing Skidmore-Tynan at the right time seeing as Skidmore-Tynan is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Port Aransas, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Woodsboro at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Port Aransas' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 matches.
