Basketball Recap: Gospel Light Christian Makes It Five in a Row at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southwest Christian Academy, Gospel Light Christian was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Legacy Academy Warriors as the Gospel Light Christian Lions made off with a 56-36 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Lions considering their 24-point performance the matchup before.

Legacy Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Manolo Vazquez, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Vazquez has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Silas Lofton, who posted seven points.

Gospel Light Christian pushed their record up to 7-10 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points per game. As for Legacy Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.

Gospel Light Christian will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Christian Ministries Academy at 7:30 p.m. As for Legacy Academy, they will face off against CHAAMP HomeSchool at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
