Wakeland had won four straight on the road, but on Tuesday they bumped their record up to 20-6 to make it five. Their pitchers stepped up to hand The Colony Cougars a 5-0 shutout. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

As for The Colony, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-9. The match marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

For The Colony's part, they got a good showing from Colton Wood, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Wakeland will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
