Volleyball Recap: Arapahoe Has No Trouble Against Northern Valley

Arapahoe had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Northern Valley on Thursday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 3-0 win. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Arapahoe was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-7, 25-11.

Arapahoe found their leader in sophomore Sawyer Shafer, who had ten digs and six aces. Those six aces set a new season-high mark for Shafer. Another player making a difference was Suttyn Shafer, who had eight digs and three aces.

Arapahoe was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in five consecutive contests.

Arapahoe's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Northern Valley, they dropped their record down to 4-20 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Arapahoe wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] on the 10th. As for Northern Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Wheatland-Grinnell on the 11th.
