Volleyball Recap: Brownell Talbot's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

If Brownell Talbot was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Boys Town on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raiders lost 3-0 to the Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2018.

Quinn Iverson paced Brownell Talbot's offense, picking up ten kills. Iverson got some help from Becky Hoban and her 14 assists.

Ashland-Greenwood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Averi Bridges led the charge by getting 12 digs and eight aces. With that strong performance, Bridges is now averaging an impressive 2.1 aces per game. Drew Tonjes also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

With the defeat, Brownell Talbot broke their five-match winning streak and moved their record to 21-8. As for Ashland-Greenwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.

Brownell Talbot does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ashland-Greenwood, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Bishop Neumann on the 29th.
