Softball Recap: Louisa County Lions vs. Goochland Bulldogs

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Louisa County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Goochland Bulldogs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Louisa County also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.

Lilly Ruckle spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in nine consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Louisa County let Alyssa Hopkins and Kalli Monahan loose on the outfield. Hopkins went 2-for-4 with a triple, a run, and an RBI, while Monahan went 2-for-3 with a triple, a stolen base, and a run. Laci Garrett was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

On Goochland's side, Chelsey Farthing was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win.
