Recap: Prairie View Thunderhawks vs. Horizon Hawks

The Prairie View Thunderhawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Horizon 80-42. Prairie View was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-25.

Prairie View's loss came despite strong showings from Celicia Robles and Paige Walker. Robles scored 23 points, while Walker scored seven points along with eight rebounds. Robles is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season.

It was another big night for Morgan Ives, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten assists for Horizon. That's the first time this season that Ives posted eight or more assists. Natalie Thornton was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Prairie View's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Horizon, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prairie View and Fossil Ridge will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Horizon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Loveland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Loveland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Saturday.
