Football Recap: Allen Wins Going Away Against Stratford

Allen was handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Stratford on Friday. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 35-13 victory. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 30-22 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Quinton Box had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 66 yards and one TD.

Box was just one part of a punishing run game: Allen was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 303 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Box, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

The victory got Allen back to even at 1-1. As for Stratford, they dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Allen will look to defend their home field on Friday against Wynnewood at 7:30 p.m. As for Stratford, they will head out to face off against Healdton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
