Volleyball Recap: Wednesday's Defeat Ends Hough's Winning Streak

If Hough was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of South Mecklenburg on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Huskies took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carson Cougars on Wednesday. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Among those leading the charge was Alana Herring, who had ten digs and five aces. She has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played. Chloe Webster was another key player, getting seven digs and two aces.

With the defeat, Hough broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 11-12. As for Carson, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

Hough has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Myers Park on the 7th. As for Carson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Northwest Cabarrus on the 2nd.
