Softball Recap: Lexington Minutemen vs. Ashland Arrows
Lexington had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Ashland Arrows as they made off with an 11-1 win. That's two games straight that the Minutemen have won by exactly ten runs.
Makaree Chapman made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Kylie Thornton was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Alexis Cantrell was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one double.
