Softball Recap: Francis Parker Comes Up Short

Francis Parker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Morse Tigers. That's two games in a row now that the Lancers have lost by exactly two runs.

Francis Parker got a massive performance out of Amelia Antczak, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was Antczak's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Payton Zborowski, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Francis Parker's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Morse, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Francis Parker will venture away from home to take on La Jolla Country Day at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lancers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Torreys have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Morse, they will head out on the road to face off against Mission Bay at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Buccaneers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
