Canyon Springs had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 31-24 to the San Gorgonio Spartans. The Cougars' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row dating back to last season.
Despite the loss, Canyon Springs had strong showings from Angel Robles, who threw for 240 yards and three touchdowns, and Aaron Triplett, who picked up 130 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Triplett was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 65 yards. A healthy portion of that aerial production (108 yards to be exact) also went to Cameron Holzendorf.
