Football Recap: Navasota Falls Short of Bridge City in the Playoffs + How To Watch

Navasota and Bridge City squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Navasota had to settle for second. They and the Cardinals were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 28-27 loss. While the Rattlers had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Cardinals 6-0.

When it comes to explaining why Navasota lost, don't look at Jace Jablonski. Despite the final result, he threw for 263 yards and four TDs. Caysien Douglas was Jablonski's top target, picking up 44 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Abraham Munguia was his usual excellent self, rushing for 93 yards and three scores on only 11 carries, while also picking up 60 receiving yards and one TD for Bridge City. The Cardinals also got a significant boost from Ashton Sumrall, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 91 yards.

Navasota's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Bridge City, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Navasota does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bridge City, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 34-0 loss against Kilgore on the 28th.
