Baseball Recap: Crescent City Comes Up Short

If Crescent City was feeling good fresh off their 17-1 takedown of Halifax Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Crescent City Raiders took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Taylor Wildcats on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Andrew Roosa made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Crescent City's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Taylor, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crescent City will head out to take on Lake Weir at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Weir has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.77 runs per game on average), something Crescent City will no doubt try to take advantage of. Taylor will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Warner Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on March 24th.
