Baseball Recap: Glen Allen Finds Playoff Glory Versus Cosby

With a playoff win on the line, Glen Allen rose to the challenge on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Cosby Titans. This was a revenge game for the Jaguars: when they faced off against the Titans back in April, they had to take a 9-5 defeat.

Glen Allen got a great performance from Daniel Nienaber as he struck out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Nienaber has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Glen Allen saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Pulliam, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Another was Alex Awad, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Glen Allen and bumps their season record up to 12-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Cosby, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6-1.

As of now, neither Glen Allen nor the Titans have any future games scheduled.
