The Enterprise Wolves and the Virgin Valley Bulldogs will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Enterprise's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Virgin Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Enterprise's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victor by an 8-0 margin over Mountain View. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won four games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Klint Bundy and Clayton Bowler did most of the damage at the plate: Bundy went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one double, while Bowler went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits Bundy has posted since back in April of 2024. Javin Randall also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Enterprise always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Virgin Valley had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Lakers by a score of 8-4.
Tray Hughes was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Koby Perry, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
The win made it two in a row for Enterprise and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Virgin Valley, their record now sits at 3-1.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Enterprise hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .371. However, it's not like Virgin Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .359. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Enterprise might still be hurting after the 15-5 defeat they got from Virgin Valley in their previous meeting on Thursday. Can Enterprise avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
