Baseball Recap: Celebration Storm vs. Davenport Broncos

Celebration and Davenport squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Celebration had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Broncos by a score of 13-11. The Storm were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Broncos earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

Jay Berrios was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. Celebration is 3-1 when Berrios posts two or more runs, but 7-10 otherwise.
