Basketball Recap: Mountain View's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Nogales, Mountain View was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 53-32 margin over the Gila Ridge Hawks. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mountain Lions as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

When it comes to explaining why Gila Ridge lost, don't look at Ella Gettings. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 43.8% of Gila Ridge's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Waymire, who put up five points.

Mountain View's win bumped their record up to 3-13. As for Gila Ridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Mountain View has already played their next matchup, a 54-42 victory against Casa Grande on the 17th. As for Gila Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 53-38 win against Yuma on the 17th.
