Basketball Recap: Anderson Prep Academy Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Anderson Prep Academy had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They walked away with a 44-37 victory over the Greenwood Christian Academy Cougars. This was payback for the Jets, who suffered an 86-44 loss the last time these two teams met.

It was another big night for Alivia Peoples, who almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine rebounds. The matchup was her 11th in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylynn Orr, who posted eight points and 11 boards.

Anderson Prep Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Myra Finnity, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Finnity has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Molly Hunter, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds.

Anderson Prep Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-18.

Looking ahead, Anderson Prep Academy will face off against Northeast Dubois at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Northeast Dubois will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Anderson Prep Academy surely won't give up without a fight. Greenwood Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
