Jonesville dropped their record down to 8-6 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Springport Spartans. The Comets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2019.

Devan Herendeen was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Bradley, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

As for Springport, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

On Springport's side, they saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bo Lightner, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Gavin Lightner was another, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jonesville will take on East Jackson at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Comets are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Springport, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Bronson at 4:15 p.m.
