Basketball Recap: Little Elm Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lewisville last Saturday, Little Elm came back down to earth. The Little Elm Lobos had to suffer through a 54-27 loss at the hands of the Braswell Bengals. While losing is never fun, the Lobos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while the Bengals are ranked second).

Little Elm lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Amina Diallo, who posted eight points. Azaria Watts was another key player, putting up three points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Little Elm has been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 15 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season. As for Braswell, they are on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 26-2 record this season.

Little Elm will challenge Flower Mound at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Braswell, they will square off against Lewisville at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Braswell's favor as the team sits on ten straight wins at home while Lewisville has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
