Volleyball Recap: Northwestern Huskies vs. Chippewa Chipps
Northwestern had lost nine straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 2-17 to make it ten. They came up short against the Chippewa Chipps, falling 3-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 4, 2022, but that streak is no more.
Claire Buchholz paced Northwestern's offense, picking up 12 kills. Buchholz got some help from Kelsee Smith and her 16 assists. Lily Farnsworth and Shiloh McConahay kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.
As for Chippewa, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The game was the first time they have beaten Northwestern on their court since September 8, 2022.
Rory Petit was the offensive standout of the match as she had 15 digs and two aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 14 times she's played. Aira Regan also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
