Lincoln had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 10-12 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Pekin Dragons. For the Railsplitters, this counts as revenge for the 7-6 victory the Dragons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.
As for Pekin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
For Pekin's part, Zoe Lindahl spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. Lindahl has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Pekin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Benassi, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln will take on Limestone at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
