Basketball Recap: Palmdale Takes a Loss

Palmdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 62-53 to the Eastside Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 64-61 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

It was another big night for Kenneth Harris, who went 12 of 19 en route to 28 points and eight rebounds for Eastside. Those 28 points gave Harris a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mauricio Cruz, who posted four points and eight rebounds.

Palmdale's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Eastside, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-8.

Palmdale and Eastside could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Palmdale (ranked 1089th) will meet The Palmdale Aerospace Academy (ranked 492nd) at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, Eastside (ranked 555th) will meet Knight (ranked 234th) at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
