Softball Recap: Ponder Triumphs

While Ponder put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Cleburne. The Lions narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Yellowjackets 2-0. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by exactly two runs.

Ponder saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kami Thorson, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Kennedy Nichols also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

The victory got Ponder back to even at 2-2. As for Cleburne, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Ponder will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Callisburg at 5:00 p.m. on March 24. As for Cleburne, they will face off against Arlington Heights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
