Crandall is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest win since December 17, 2024 on Tuesday. They blew past Corsicana 53-27. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 345th, while the Tigers are ranked 778th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Ennis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They fell 43-36 to Kaufman.

Ennis' defeat dropped their record down to 6-22. As for Crandall, their victory bumped their record up to 13-14.
