Basketball Recap: Southside Christian Takes a Loss

Southside Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Hilltop Christian Chargers and fell 68-21. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-10.

Meleah Bell continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hilltop Christian, almost dropping a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds. That's the most points Bell has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lizzy Jernigan, who had nine points and five boards.

Southside Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Hilltop Christian, the win got them back to even at 11-11.

Southside Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-12 defeat against Wilson Christian Academy on the 7th. As for Hilltop Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-19 victory against Bethel Christian Academy on the 7th.
