Basketball Game Preview: Byron Bears vs. Stewartville Tigers

Byron has won four straight games at home, while Stewartville has won four straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Byron Bears will welcome the Stewartville Tigers at 7:15 p.m. Byron knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matchups -- so hopefully Stewartville likes a good challenge.

Byron is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Minnesota's top teams: Goodhue, who was ranked 18th at the time (Byron was ranked 13th). Byron walked away with a 59-47 win over Goodhue on Friday. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Tigers on Friday. Stewartville blew past Lake City, posting a 65-32 win. Stewartville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 21 points or more this season.

Byron better keep an eye on Audrey Shindelar. She was instrumental in Stewartville's win, going 8-for-16 to rack up 26 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The game was Shindelar's eighth in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Danika Shindelar, who posted 12 points.

Stewartville is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points over those games. As for Byron, their victory bumped their record up to 23-3.
