Volleyball Game Preview: Deer Valley Wolverines vs. Freedom Falcons

Deer Valley has gone 8-1 against Freedom recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wolverines will look to defend their home court against the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Deer Valley took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Pittsburg.

Deer Valley got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 33-31, 17-25, 25-18, 25-23.

Cyril James Omne had an outrageously good game as he had 27 digs and two assists. Those 27 digs gave him a new career-high. Atlas O'Connor also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.

Meanwhile, Freedom was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Patrick-St. Vincent on Monday, taking the game 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

In the three sets Freedom was on fire: they won each by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 19-25, 25-14, 25-15.

Deer Valley pushed their record up to 22-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Freedom, their victory bumped their record up to 9-14.

Deer Valley beat Freedom 3-1 when the teams last played on April 8th. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
