Volleyball Recap: Akron Rams vs. Stratton Eagles
Akron was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Stratton Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 last Saturday.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Akron sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 23-25, 15-12.
Kaydence Headden paced Akron's offense, picking up 17 kills. Headden got some help from Kashlee Randel and her 25 assists. Randel was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Akron's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Stratton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
Akron wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against McClave on the 27th. As for Stratton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Holyoke on the 27th.
