Basketball Recap: Kell Takes a Loss

Kell and Pace Academy squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Kell had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Pace Academy Knights, falling 80-50. The contest marked the Longhorns' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Pace Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bentley Lusakueno led the charge by dropping a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Lusakueno a new career-high in steals (three). Hayden Clay was another key player, going 6-for-7 on his way to 13 points along with eight boards and five blocks.

Kell's loss dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Pace Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-4 record this season.

Kell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pace Academy, they will welcome Union Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pace Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 72.2 points per game this season.
