Softball Recap: Valencia Comes Up Short

Valencia has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.46 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They lost 14-4 to the Granada Hills Charter Highlanders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 11-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.

Blair Rune was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Valencia's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5. As for Granada Hills Charter, their win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2.

Valencia will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Royal at 3:30 p.m. on the 14th. As for Granada Hills Charter, they will square off against Moorpark at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
