Jefferson never let their opponents score on Saturday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over the Lakeside Lutheran Warriors. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Hildie Dempsey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. That RBI was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Aeryn Messmann was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Chloe Smith, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
Jefferson's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Lakeside Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Coincidentally, Jefferson and Lakeside Lutheran will both be playing Mount Horeb the next time they take the field. The Warriors will head out to face the Vikings at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
