Volleyball Recap: Benton Zephyrs vs. Belmont Braves

Benton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Belmont Braves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Braves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

While Benton had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-20.

Several Zephyrs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Faith Auderer, who had 14 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Tayva Stoutenborough, who had 16 digs.

Benton's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Belmont, the win snapped their losing streak at four matches and leaves them with a 7-13 record.

Benton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Shullsburg on the 14th. As for Belmont, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Cassville on the 16th.
