Softball Recap: Santiam's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

Santiam dropped their record down to 13-7 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Regis Rams by a score of 8-7. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Lindsey Briley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Brooke Massey was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.

As for Regis, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2. Eight seems to be a good number for they as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

On Regis' side, Addie Bishop spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks. Bishop has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hadley Foster, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Olivia Adams, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

While Santiam had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
