Volleyball Recap: Southwest DeKalb Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Southwest DeKalb was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the St. Pius X Catholic Golden Lions. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Golden Lions from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-9, 25-13.

Southwest DeKalb's offense was headlined by Brianna Falk and Shamyah Wright, who picked up two kills apiece. They got some help from Janai Townes and her two assists.

St. Pius X Catholic was led to victory by Sofia Ziran and Catherine Morris. Ziran had five aces, while Morris had 13 assists. That's the most aces Ziran has posted over her last four matchups.

Southwest DeKalb's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for St. Pius X Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-16 record this season.

Southwest DeKalb didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Cross Keys on the 23rd. As for St. Pius X Catholic, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Tucker on the 23rd.
