Basketball Game Preview: Evangel Christian Lightning vs. Valiant Cross Academy Warriors

Evangel Christian is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Wiregrass: they outscored them in every quarter. The Lightning put the hurt on the Kings with a sharp 66-45 victory on Friday. The Lightning have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Hudson Walker produced another solid performance going 6-for-12 to rack up 16 points and eight boards. Ben Bugnar was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and four blocks.

Evangel Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Valiant Cross Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past Varsity Opponent, posting a 72-23 win. That 49 point margin sets a new team best for the Warriors this season.

Evangel Christian's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Valiant Cross Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
