Basketball Recap: Dixie Hornets vs. South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind Hornets

The Dixie Hornets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 55-23 win over South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind. Dixie has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 22 points or more this season.

Dixie found their leader in underclassman Jaylia Turner, who scored 17 points. Hannah Carter was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Dixie has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season. As for South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dixie will challenge the Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. Whitmire presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Hornets in South Carolina (the Wolverines are ranked 291st, while the Hornets are ranked 625th).
