On Friday, Southwest Valley was beaten by AHSTW 49-12. The loss continues a trend for Southwest Valley in their meetings with AHSTW: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 60-14, which was the final score in Nodaway Valley's tilt against Riverside on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 123rd).

Nodaway Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Southwest Valley, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
