Football Recap: Yazoo County Comes Up Short

Yazoo County and Humphreys County pushed the score to 34-28 the last time they played Humphreys County, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Panthers fell just short of the Cowboys by a score of 14-12. The Panthers have struggled against the Cowboys recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Yazoo County lost, don't look at Chandler Hardman. Despite the final result, he rushed for 97 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries, and also picked up 80 receiving yards.

Yazoo County's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Humphreys County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.
