Basketball Recap: North Polk's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

North Polk had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs 52-30 on Thursday. The Comets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 19 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

The win (which was North Polk's fourth in a row) raised their record to 24-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 19.8 points. As for Dallas Center-Grimes, they moved to 19-5 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, North Polk will take on Xavier on Saturday. Xavier knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully North Polk likes a good challenge. Dallas Center-Grimes does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
