Softball Recap: Temple Comes Up Short

Temple came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-2 to the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Bulldawgs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Lilliana Gandara made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.

Temple's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7-1. As for Copperas Cove, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Temple will be playing at home against Harker Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harker Heights' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Temple's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Copperas Cove, they will take on Midway at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Midway will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Copperas Cove surely won't give up without a fight.
