Recap: Veritas Prep Falcons vs. San Tan Charter Roadrunners
It was a good run, but the Veritas Prep Falcons unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 66-36 loss at the hands of San Tan Charter. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Veritas Prep has scored all season.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Casen Lentz, who scored 12 points along with four steals and two blocks. Lentz hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Carter Perry was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds.
San Tan Charter's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zaire Richardson, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Kylen Bonner, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.
Veritas Prep's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for San Tan Charter, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3.
Veritas Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Anthem Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. As for San Tan Charter, they will be playing at home against Leading Edge Academy - GEC at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Leading Edge Academy - GEC is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
