Recap: Live Oak Acorns vs. Silver Creek Raiders
The Live Oak Acorns's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 72-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Silver Creek. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Live Oak still got an impressive performance from Austin Jennings, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. The match was Jennings' 12th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lukas Marcheschi, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Live Oak has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Silver Creek, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Live Oak won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Gilroy at 6:30 p.m. on January 11th. As for Silver Creek, they will be playing at home against Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hill is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
