Basketball Recap: Deer Valley Piles Up the Points Against Mountain Ridge

Deer Valley won the last time they faced Mountain Ridge and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Deer Valley Skyhawks breezed by the Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions to the tune of 56-27. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Skyhawks.

Deer Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cecilia Romero, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine steals. Romero is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Lilah Clark was another key player, putting up ten points along with six rebounds and six steals.

Deer Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Deer Valley's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Mountain Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Deer Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-27 loss against Estrella Foothills on the 15th. As for Mountain Ridge, they will face off against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
