Basketball Recap: Mitchell Oliver's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Vista PEAK Prep over Rangeview

Vista PEAK Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 70-50 to the Rangeview Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, with their most recent defeat being a 74-40 loss last Friday.

Vista PEAK Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mitchell Oliver, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Oliver a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Larry Mosley, who posted 13 points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Vista PEAK Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.

It was another big night for Ladavian King, who dropped a double-double with 27 points and ten rebounds for Rangeview. Another player making a difference was Marceles Duncan, who went 7-for-14 on his way to 15 points along with seven boards and six assists.

Vista PEAK Prep's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Rangeview, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 21-0.

Vista PEAK Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 63-46 win against Denver West on the 20th. As for Rangeview, they have also already played their next game, an 80-42 victory against Northfield on the 20th.
