Preview: Preble Shawnee Arrows vs. Ansonia Tigers
The Preble Shawnee Arrows will be playing at home against the Ansonia Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ansonia took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Preble Shawnee, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, Preble Shawnee was able to grind out a solid win over Twin Valley South, taking the game 37-27.
Preble Shawnee found their leader in underclassman Aubrey Unger, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Unger has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caylee Hatmaker, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Ansonia's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 62-35 loss at the hands of Mississinawa Valley. Ansonia has not had much luck with Mississinawa Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Preble Shawnee's win bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Ansonia, they bumped their record down to 6-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Preble Shawnee against Ansonia in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 71-38 win. Does Preble Shawnee have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ansonia turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
