Soccer Game Preview: Mountain Range vs. Boulder

Mountain Range is 0-9 against Boulder since March of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Mustangs will head out to square off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

While Mountain Range's victory against Northglenn wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the Norsemen on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for Mountain Range in their matchups with Northglenn: they've now won five in a row.

Mountain Range's one-goal win came courtesy of Maddie Gauna, who's now up to three this season.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Boulder's offense. They fell just short of Broomfield by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. The loss was Boulder's first of the season.

Mountain Range's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those five contests. As for Boulder, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1-2.

Mountain Range suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Boulder when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
